The Commercial Dock and Door Sales Representative is directly responsible for driving sales opportunities and improving the sales performance of Top Notch Dock & Door (TNDD). This high impact growth role provides a comprehensive eye toward driving accelerated sales growth, both directly and through collaboration with internal team members.
In this role, you will be responsible for strategically sourcing and qualifying business prospects, managing existing client relationships, and driving sales of commercial dock and door solutions. This includes a range of products such as loading dock equipment, overhead doors, industrial doors, and related accessories. You will work closely with contractors, facility managers, and decision-makers to understand their needs and provide customized solutions that enhance their operations.
The ideal candidate will have a strong sales background, preferably in the construction, industrial, or commercial equipment sectors. You should possess excellent communication and negotiation skills, be able to work independently, and thrive in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential functions include but are not limited to the following:
· Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing customers, including building owners, general contractors, architects, and facility managers.
· Identify customer needs and offer tailored commercial dock and door solutions that meet their operational requirements.
· Provide product demonstrations, technical specifications, and pricing proposals to clients.
· Conduct site visits to assess customer requirements and provide on-site solutions.
· Negotiate contracts and pricing to close sales.
· Collaborate with the operations and installation teams to ensure timely project completion and customer satisfaction.
· Maintain accurate records of sales activities, pipeline, and customer interactions using CRM software.
· Stay updated on industry trends, new products, and competitors to effectively position the company’s offerings.
· Understanding of commercial dock and door products, including loading dock equipment, industrial doors, and overhead doors.
· Awareness of industry trends, product innovations, and competitor offerings.
· Knowledge of B2B sales cycles and processes, with an understanding of customer needs in commercial or industrial sectors.
· Familiarity with construction-related terminology, processes, and project timelines.
· Understanding of safety standards and regulatory requirements related to loading dock and door equipment.
· Develop and maintain strong relationships with a diverse group of clients, from small businesses to large commercial entities.
· Self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team to meet sales targets.
· Perform site assessments and technical evaluations, identifying the best solutions for each customer’s unique needs.
· Adapt to changing market conditions and adjust sales strategies accordingly.
· Work collaboratively with internal teams (operations, installation, and customer service) to ensure customer satisfaction and project success.
· Learn quickly and stay up to date on product knowledge, industry trends, and competitive landscape.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:
· Proven sales experience, ideally in commercial sales, industrial equipment, or construction-related fields. While experience in the specific dock and door industry is a plus, it is not required.
· Strong understanding of commercial dock and door products and their applications, or a willingness to learn.
· Ability to develop relationships with diverse customer segments, from small businesses to large commercial enterprises.
· Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
· Self-motivated with a results-driven approach and the ability to work independently.
· Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
· Ability to perform site assessments and technical evaluations.
· A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
EDUCATION:
· High school diploma or equivalent is required; a bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
· At least 3-5 years of sales experience, preferably in B2B, industrial, or commercial product sales, or equivalent experience in a related field.
· Previous experience in the commercial dock and door industry is not required but is a plus.
· A basic understanding of commercial construction processes and equipment is beneficial but not necessary.
