Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Lead Staff to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth operations during their shift, providing exceptional support and assistance to adults with developmental disabilities. This position requires strong leadership skills, the ability to manage time effectively, and a commitment to advocating for individuals who require support.
Duties
- Train and assist clients with daily living skills including personal hygiene, housekeeping, meal preparation, emergency responses, social interaction, grocery shopping and medical appointments, medication administration, finding and maintaining appropriate social activities.
- Follow health and safety plans by ensuring client safety at all times, and notifying management of health and safety concerns, including ISP recommendations to address these concerns.
- Assist Program Coordinator in various aspects of case management, such as grocery shopping, inventory tracking, order and pick-up medication, MAR log pick-up/drop-off, and other tasks as needed.
- Ensures Individual Service Plans (ISP) are implemented and followed for each client, and makes recommendations to management about needed revisions and updates to the ISP.
- Implement techniques and approved methods of intervention for client behavior(s).
- Maintain a professional relationship with clients, parents, vendors, conservators, supervisors, and other employees.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience
- At least 3 years of experience working with individuals with developmental and intellectual (ID/DD) disabilities; a leadership role within that time frame is preferred.
- College units or completion of certificate programs may be used in lieu of experience.
- Multilingual skills are a plus, enhancing communication with diverse clients/families.
- Proficiency in administrative tasks, including basic computer skills for reporting purposes.
- Ability to effectively manage time and prioritize multiple tasks at once.
Qualifications
- Have a safe and reliable vehicle at all times, with current registration and insurance
- Drivers License in good standing
- Pass fingerprint clearance (DOJ)
- Clean driving record (provide DMV printout)
- CPR/First Aid ceritification
- Have a working cell phone that can download multiple apps
Physical Requirements
- Work in both indoor and outdoor settings, including heat, wind, and rain
- Frequent lifting, carrying objects up to 50 pounds
- Transferring individuals up to 200 pounds
- Sitting, standing, twisting, climbing, crawling, stooping, kneeling, bending, balancing, pushing and pulling
- Walking or running on uneven surfaces
