Job Description:
The Maintenance Director is responsible for overseeing the maintenance of production, packaging, receiving, and shipping equipment. This includes supervising staff responsible for facilities maintenance, including grounds keeping activities, building repairs, and utilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establishes and directs planner and scheduler activities to ensure efficient maintenance operations.
- Requisitions tools, equipment, and supplies as needed.
- Inspects completed work to ensure conformance to standards, blueprints, and specifications.
- Ensures maintenance schedules and repair estimates align with assignment targets.
- Enforces safety regulations and company policies to prevent accidents and maintain a safe working environment.
- Develops and adjusts work procedure policies to meet repair schedules and optimize maintenance efficiency.
- Supervises planning and installation activities for new equipment.
- Organizes and maintains critical departmental matrices, including minimum maintenance downtime, stores inventory levels, safety records, work order efficiency, and labor.
- Maintains work schedule compliance records to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Develops a dynamic PM, work order, and maintenance program to reduce equipment downtime and improve overall efficiency.
- Ensures USDA compliance through completion scheduling and maintenance of PIP work.
- Maintains equipment and safety records to facilitate regulatory compliance and historical data analysis.
- Ensures budgets are managed in accordance with goals and objectives.
- Establishes Personnel Management Agreements at supervisory and team member levels.
- Develops a skills assessment program based on individual strengths to enhance employee development.
- Implements changes in working conditions and equipment usage to increase efficiency and productivity.
- Champions and maintains a root cause analysis program directed at equipment failures to identify areas for improvement.
- Ensures equipment repair records are maintained in EAM & CMMS systems.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree plus 10 years of experience in food manufacturing (Engineering degree preferred).
- Strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, electronics, PLC's, refrigeration, boilers, and facilities.
- Experience in CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
- Must have experience working in a food (FDA/USDA) plant.
- Strong leadership skills and proven track record of leading maintenance teams.
- Able to work on multiple shifts and weekend work.
- Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
