Talmo & Associates is seeking an experienced Entry writer to clear goods through customs and facilitate the delivery.
Position: Entry Writer
Salary range: $26-28hr
Job type: Full-Time, in office
Schedule: Mon-Fri; 8am-5pm
Location: Monterey Park, CA
Essential Duties:
- Prepare documents for submittal to US Customs
- Review documents to check for accuracy and compliance
- Understand tariff schedules and proper entry of data
- Interface with customers on CBP, OGA delivery and irregularities.
- Manage daily tracking report for open shipments.
- Track and trace shipments and coordinate with the steamship lines, freight forwarders and CFS on the availability of imported shipments.
- Verify arrival notices and ensure completion of delivery orders, sending to truckers, confirm receipt and POD's.
- Handle accounting processes including the issuance of invoices and freight bill approval.
- Maintain relationships with carriers, freight forwarders, container freight stations and trucking companies.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years experience as an Entry Writer
- Must have prior experience working in a CBH
- Has worked with various products including hazardous. FDA and live animals
- Detailed-oriented and able to meet deadlines
- Experience using CargoWise or similar software
