**Position Overview**:
We are looking for a motivated and reliable Sushi Helper to join our team. As a Sushi Helper, you will assist in the preparation and crafting of high-quality sushi rolls, maintain a clean and organized kitchen, and learn the ins and outs of sushi making under the guidance of our experienced chefs. **Key Responsibilities**:
- Learn and become proficient in our sushi menu, including ingredients, preparation methods, and presentation standards.
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients such as slicing fish, chopping vegetables, and preparing rice.
- Handcraft sushi rolls with precision and care, following the chef’s guidance and recipes.
- Ensure sushi rolls are consistent in size, shape, and presentation.
- Assist in maintaining the sushi station, keeping it clean, organized, and stocked with necessary ingredients.
- Support the team by prepping garnishes, sauces, and other items required for the sushi bar.
- Handle food safely and comply with health and sanitation regulations.
- Assist in the packaging of orders for delivery or takeout when needed.
- Ensure that the sushi station is ready for the next shift and properly cleaned at the end of your shift.
**Qualifications**:
- Interest in learning about sushi making and Japanese cuisine.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
- Previous kitchen experience is a plus but not required; training will be provided.
- Must be able to handle basic kitchen equipment such as knives and rice cookers.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
