Jr. Linux Systems Administrator
Tope is seeking a Junior Linux Systems Administrator to support the AF Strategic Program Information Services team in support of the Sentinel Information Services (IS) team. The selected candidate will join our Information Services team and have an important role in supporting our mission of Strategic Deterrence through continual improvement and innovation. The position will have the following duties and responsibilities :
- Provide Systems Administration for Linux / RHEL operating systems
- Deploy and configure Linux applications and services
- Installation of various COTS and GOTS software applications
- Software licensing and server certification
- Testing application functionality; ensuring proper and up-to-date security configurations
- Software removal from networks
- Responsible for training other team members on Standard Operating Procedures
- Perform software version upgrades
- Implement and test software patches and security fixes
- Perform installation, configuration, hardening, and testing for new system changes
- Develop, execute, and improve documentation for installation, configuration, hardening, operations and maintenance tasks
- Provide input to and follow direction from Configuration Management processes
- Ensure adherence to IT infrastructure standards, policies, and procedures
- Assist in performing root cause analysis and resolving faults and errors
Position requires a current Security Certification , United States Citizenship, fully adjudicated DoD Secret or Top-Secret Security Clearance and at least 2 years’ experience with a MS degree; 3 years’ experience with a BS degree; or 7 years’ experience with a HS diploma with :
