Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated hands-on leader for our Senior Accounting Manager role who will partner with our CEO and AMR team to support multiple clients across the western United States. In this role, you will provide accounting support to meet our clients' operational requirements and to comply with statutory and compliance demands. The ideal candidate will be familiar with Uniform Guidance, the Single Audit process, and a variety of grants and contracts compliance deadlines.

Who You Are:

ü Multiple project management skills:

· Strong multitasking skills and ability to seamlessly transition between diverse client projects

· Strong proficiency in transitioning between different accounting software systems

ü Strong debit and credit accounting skills:

· Ability to analyze and adjust balance sheet accounts for accuracy and completeness.

· Proficient at learning and implementing new fund accounting software packages, including transaction entry and complex accounting processes

· Ability to identify, correct, and resolve complex accounting errors and discrepancies, including those spanning multiple years

· Ability to comply with PBC audit requirements and meet deadlines for field work

ü Ability to quickly adapt to different accounting software products and systems:

· Experience with, or ability to quickly learn, fund accounting software packages such as MIP, AccuFund, Microix, QuickBooks, HDS, and Jenzabar

ü Self-motivated and highly results-driven:

· The position requires a diverse skill set, encompassing strategic financial planning (CFO-level), managerial accounting (Controller-level), and general ledger accounting

ü Strong work ethic and a relentless drive to project completion

ü Proven ability to thrive in high-pressure, fast-paced, and very politically charged environments

ü Ability to identify, correct, and resolve complex accounting errors and discrepancies, and bring them up to date and in full compliance

ü Ability to learn Uniform Guidance, regulations, audit requirements, and any other technical or compliance as necessary

ü Proactive approach to staying up to date with the latest accounting rules, regulations, and compliance standards

ü Willingness to travel:

· This is a hybrid role working from home initially with occasional quarterly travel in the future as client relationships progress

ü Preference to:

· CPA with substantial write up experience

· Fund accounting experience

· Grants and contacts compliance reporting

· Single Audit background

· Reside in the western states with easy access to an airport.

· Indian Country experience

· Entrepreneurial mindset

What we look for in a great candidate:

• Years of relevant experience with full responsibility for the accounting support function
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
• CPA designation
• Ability to motivate and work collaboratively with our business partners, team members, senior management, and client groups on various projects and initiatives
• Ability to handle and manage multiple projects and work streams
• Ability to set and communicate timelines, roles, and responsibilities to team members, and to hold them accountable for deliverables
• Exceptional communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation skills)
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
• Hands-on, detail-oriented with the ability to see the big picture
• Remains balanced in a highly politically charged environment, with the capacity to prioritize tasks and work around situations to obtain results
• Thrive in ambiguous environments and is highly results-driven
• Ability to partner with cross-functional finance and senior leaders/council/boards
• Ability to adapt to a different culture with substantial differences in workplace performance and expectations

Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
