Topre America is seeking a Coil Receiving Specialist to become a valuable member of our team!
This role is responsible for coordinating incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring accurate documentation, and maintaining quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Operate an overhead crane safely and efficiently
- Perform all daily checks and safety checks, reporting any issues to both the Safety Manager and Steel Buyer
- Operate forklifts as required (smaller coils must be moved via forklift)
- Unload all steel trucks safely and efficiently, verifying received product and signing bills of lading
- Drive a switcher truck to swap out scrap trailers (training provided)
- Log coil information and complete receiving check sheets after unloading steel trucks
- Conduct mechanical checks using micrometers, tape measures, scales, and hardness testing equipment in a timely and accurate manner
- Copy and file necessary documents, including packing slips and certifications, and attach them to each coil for tracking purposes
- Enter receiving quantities into the IFS system and notify the Steel Buyer of any shortages or quality concerns
- Maintain awareness of coil inventory and movement within the plant
- Ensure all coils are properly received, documented, and transactions completed in the IFS system by end of day
- Assist in retrieving and distributing tool crib items from shipping
- Maintain a clean and organized coil receiving area, following 5S principles
- Work collaboratively as part of the materials group and maintain close communication with the Steel Buyer
- Previous experience in shipping, logistics, or a related field preferred
- Ability to handle physical workload and work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Forklift operation experience required
- Willingness to train on switcher truck operations
