At Toptails Vet, we are all about making sure our staff and our furry friends feel right at home during vet visits. We've even set up our exam rooms as playful spaces to make them more fun and less intimidating for pets.
We are currently seeking a Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist who is dependable, adaptable, people-oriented, has a semi-flexible schedule, and loves animals!
Schedule: We are looking for a candidate that is flexible with hours- being able to work full time or part time depending on the week. In general, this would be the normal schedule:
Monday 7:30AM-1:00PM
Tuesday 7:30AM-1:00PM
Wednesday 7:30AM-1:00PM
Thursday 7:30AM-1:00PM
Friday 7:30AM-1:00PM
Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians in various medical procedures, surgeries, and treatments.
- Communicate effectively with clients, providing information on treatment plans, medications, and post-operative care.
- Sanitize and clean the clinic effectively in a timely manor.
- Greet clients and their pets with a warm and friendly demeanor.
- Answer phones, schedule appointments, and manage client inquiries.
- Maintain electronic medical records and ensure accuracy of patient information.
- Assist veterinary staff with administrative tasks such as filing, billing, and data entry.
- Handle payments and process transactions using veterinary software.
- Communicate effectively with clients, veterinarians, and other team members.
- Keep reception area and waiting room clean and organized.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in handling and restraining animals, administering medications, and performing routine medical procedures.
- Computer/Phone Proficiency: Ability to perform tasks quickly and accurately on a computer, ability to handle multiple phone lines.
- Client-Focused: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on providing exceptional customer service.
- Passion for Animal Care: Genuine care and empathy for animals and their owners, with a commitment to delivering high-quality care.
