Accountant

Toray Advanced Composites (TAC) is a leading supplier of advanced composite materials for the aerospace, sporting goods, motor sport and industrial markets. You will find our thermoset composite products on nearly every satellite, space launch vehicle, unmanned aircraft, military and commercial aircraft in production today. TAC also provides composites materials to industrial and recreational applications including mountain bikes, medical prosthetics and sports equipment.

Our thermoplastic prepregs, known in the industry as Cetex®, are found in a wide range of commercial and military aircraft, including large wing structures and interior applications like seats and galleys. Our Cetex products are available in unidirectional tape or fabric form in a variety of engineered thermoplastic resins including PEEK, PPS, PEI as well as a full line of performance thermoplastics including Nylon, PET, PC/ABS, HDPE, and PP.

Summary of Functions:

The Accountant is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of key general ledgers related to Balance Sheet Accounts, ExpenseWire, and Corporate Credit Cards. The Accountant will also process the Accounts Payable and actively participate in financial audits. This role will support the preparation of month-end close entries, work closely with various departments to gather necessary information, and consolidate financial reports using Cognos reporting.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

General Ledger

• Assist Accounting Manager with general ledger maintenance, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and in compliance with accounting standards
• Assist Accounting Manager with reconciling and maintaining sub-ledgers, ensuring they align with the general ledger
• Administration of the company’s P-Card program, ensuring compliance with internal policies
• Ensure all P-Card transactions are recorded correctly and timely in the general ledger
• Ensure all general ledger entries are supported by appropriate documentation
• Analyze and provide explanations for fluctuations
• Prepare Balance Sheet Account Reconciliations timely on a monthly basis including Receipts Goods Not Vouchered account, Corporate Credit Card Payable Account, and some various Cash Accounts
• Assist with the month-end and year-end closing processes, including the preparation of journal entries.

AP Processing

• The Accountant will be responsible for full-cycle Accounts Payable for a portion of the Company Vendors
• Strong understanding of the RMA process and ability to resolve Invoice/Credit Memo and Purchase Order discrepancies
• Ability to form a strong and positive relationship with Company Vendors and other Cross Functioning Departments
• Reconcile vendor statements against internal records and ensure accuracy and correct payments are processed
• Process Accounts Payable payment processing weekly

Audit Support

• Assist with external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations 
• Support manager in developing and documenting business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls

Month-End and Year-End Closing

• Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting
• Other duties as assigned by the Accounting Manager

Experience and/or Education Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
• Versatile accounting skillsets with minimum of 3 years of experience in general ledger accounting or related role
• CPA or previous experience in audit support is a plus
• Manufacturing Accounting Experience is a plus
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP
• Strong understanding of the RMA process and ability to resolve invoice, credit memos, and purchase order discrepancies
• Proficient in MS Excel; prior experience in Sage, Cognos and Microsoft Dynamic D365 is a plus
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail and very accurate at work

Physical Requirements:

Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time; jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Salary Range:  $72,000 - $96,000 annually
