Our clients are adults aged 21 or older with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and their families, served through the Pennsylvania State Program known as the Adult Autism Waiver (AAW). This program is designed to help adults with ASD engage with their communities in ways that best suit their identified needs.

Responsibilities:
Behavioral Specialist Services (BSS):
BSS addresses challenges related to limited social skills, perseverative behaviors, rigid thinking, difficulty interpreting environmental cues, limited communication skills, impaired sensory systems, or other factors.
· BSS employs specialized interventions to enhance adaptive skills for greater independence, community participation, self-sufficiency, and to modify challenging behaviors.
· Supports emphasize positive behavior strategies, focusing on proactive understanding rather than aversive or punishment-based methods.
· BSS are based on individualized plans developed by our staff.
· BSS ensures consistent implementation of the Behavioral Support Plan (BSP) and Crisis Intervention Plan (CIP) across various environments and among those in regular contact with the participant, such as family, friends, neighbors, and other providers.
Direct Supports Include:
· Consultation with and support of the consumer to help them understand the purpose, objectives, methods, and documentation of the BSP, evaluate its effectiveness, and review recommended revisions.
· Crisis intervention support provided directly to the consumer during acute behavioral episodes that pose significant jeopardy or risk.
· Transportation to local appointments; travel does not include long distances or overnight stays.
Consultative Supports Include:
· Support for family members, friends, waiver providers, other support providers, and employers to help them understand the BSP's purpose, objectives, implementation methods, and progress documentation, including any agreed-upon revisions.
· Monitoring and analyzing data collected during BSP implementation based on set goals.
· Modifying the BSP or CIP as necessary based on data analysis, which may include conducting a new Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA).
*Behavioral Specialists must be available for crisis intervention support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.*
Requirements:
· Master's degree in psychology, special education, or a related field.
· Ability to safely transport consumers using a safe vehicle (motorcycles excluded).
· Valid driver's license, vehicle insurance, and registration in your name.
· Ability to pass an FBI and PA state clearance background check.
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with clients, families, and team members.
Preferred Skills:
· Experience working with individuals with autism or other developmental disabilities.
· Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles and techniques.
· Familiarity with medical terminology related to behavioral health.
· Understanding of patient care principles and ability to provide compassionate support.
· Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and ability to maintain confidentiality.
· Experience conducting functional behavior assessments and developing behavior intervention plans.
· Ability to collect and analyze data to inform treatment decisions.
· Familiarity with data collection methods for tracking client progress.
· Knowledge of behavioral therapy techniques.
This position suits those who prefer the freedom to move within their client area range and help integrate consumers into the community without direct oversight. Weekly updates with the clinical supervisor regarding consumer progress, along with weekly documentation, consultation, and quarterly progress notes about the individual's goals, are required.
The role offers the potential to transition to full-time hours as new clients are added. The current availability is 16 hours per week, with opportunities for growth as the company expands.
Part time benefits start at 16 hours per week and must be maintained in order to receive them. Including 6 paid holidays, and 32 hours of PTO after 90 days.
Full-time benefits start at 30 hours per week.
Mileage reimbursement for travel days.
This position currently serves Downtown York, Mount Rose Avenue, Shrewsbury, and Lingelstown.
