Job Description

Torch is seeking an experienced professional to support the Risk Management Working Group by providing comprehensive risk management support an Aviation Project Management Office. This position is crucial in delivering an integrated technical risk posture to inform Leadership of potential issues affecting weapon system development. The selected individual will play a key role in quantifying the likelihood and severity of concerns throughout weapon system design, development and execution.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support system and element risk managers by providing risk management expertise.
• Offer executive assistance to program Leadership and the serve as lead for both the in-house and Prime contractor Risk Management Working Groups.
• Coordinate with Product Mangers, programmatic, technical and business representatives to ensure all risks are captured in the Active Risk Manager (ARM) Tool.
• Organize extensive materials and prepare executive-level briefing packages to regularly brief leadership on risk, issue, and opportunity status.
• Develop required updates to the Risk, Issue, and Opportunity Management Plan (RIOMP) Plan to ensure currency with all applicable policies/regulations to include: Systems Engineering Guidebook, DoD Risk, Issue and Opportunity Management Guide for Defense Acquisition Programs, and DODI 5000.02
• Familiarize and comply with briefing formats, security classification guidelines, and program policies.

Job Requirements

 

• Master's Degree in Computer Science, a related field from an accredited university, or equivalent experience.
• 8 years of relevant experience in risk management on complex projects, demonstrating strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience developing risk management plans.
• Experience with risk management tools.
• Proven ability to produce technical input, compile risk assessments, and reporting risks and watch items to leadership.
• Experience with facilitating risk working groups and risk review boards, working group facilitation, action item management, and meeting coordination.
• Security clearance is required for classified information access; inability to maintain clearance will render the candidate ineligible.

 

Preferred Skills:

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to define solutions and resolve conflicts.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with attention to detail.
• Self-driven and proactive, with a capacity for multi-tasking in fast-paced environments.
• Prior Army or Department of Defense aviation experience is a plus.
