Accordingly, TorcSill is looking for an energetic addition to our engineering team.
Overview
The Engineering Technician will be responsible for project setup and submittal generation in support of designing customized helical piers for client and customer projects in conjunction with our engineering team. This self-motivated individual should be eager to join an enthusiastic team, looking for a long-term career opportunity within a dynamic organization. This position will be based out of the Manufacturing Facility in Pasadena, Texas. This position will report to the Engineering Manager and will collaborate closely with other engineers on staff as well as the sales team. The successful candidate will be capable of working independently on preconstruction estimating and design submittals, construction support, and project closeout tasks. The successful candidate will also manage administrative tasks related to the engineering department.
This position offers excellent vertical mobility potential into project management, sales, and manufacturing roles within the core business.
Major Responsibilities
- Enter proposal information and documents from sales team into internal tracking and generation system.
- Compile and organize relevant project documents. Request further information if appropriate information supplied for proposal is not included.
- Support Project Managers with execution of pile load testing and field installation activities.
- Prepare reports and project design submittals for review and stamp by Project Engineers.
- Liaison with other members of the engineering team, manufacturing, business development, and customers.
- Support the manufacture, delivery, and installation of products and materials.
Qualifications
Education and Experience Requirements
- Associate’s degree or previous experience related to the above role.
- Experience working in a fast paced and customer-focused environment.
Essential Skills
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office and PDF creator tools
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong focus on providing quality customer service during all phases of work
Preferred Experience and Skills
- Previous experience / employment with a helical, deep foundations, or ground improvement specialty contractor
- Previous experience with an industrial construction contractor.

- Frequently sits or stands for long periods of time
