This job entails working with clients that have mental health issues, intellectual disabilities, aggression / behaviors, dual diagnosis, dementia and diverse age groups. It takes a special person to do this position and you may be who we are looking for if you are:

This position entails:
- Ability to work in a group home, home-like settings, large facilities with enhanced/behavioral and challenging clients.
- Communication skills can communicate with all levels of personnel, internal and external to the company.
- The ability to speak, read, and write clearly in English.
- Handling physical aspects of job, including bending, stooping, lifting, pushing, conflict/behaviors, pulling, reaching, and walking for periods of time.
- Assisting clients with daily task, guidance, supervision, day program activities, bathing, cleanings, laundry, dressing ADLs, and medical appointments.
- Maintaining and promoting a friendly, comfortable, safe environment where people may progress socially, emotionally, and physically.
- Passing medications, per administrative training and/or assisting as assigned.
- Assisting with housekeeping duties including but not limited to: meal preparation, cooking, meal clean-up, bed making, laundry, dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping and other daily tasks.
- Following, observing, and reporting residents' Individual Program Plan (IPP).
- Respecting and promoting the rights and safety of individuals.
- Providing support and other related duties as assigned by supervisor(s)/nursing staff.
- Providing assistance with staff training as assigned.
- Following and implementing company policies and procedures.
- Driving company vehicles or individual vehicles if needed for client appointments and community destinations.
- Attending required in-services and other trainings.
- Creating incident reports involving dangerous or physical interactions, abuse, misconduct and any false claims.
- Performing other duties as assigned to meet department and/or business needs.
Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
- Full time and part time positions.
- Day and night shift positions.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- 18 years of age or older.
- Valid driver’s license, registration, and auto insurance.
- Training and certification as a Direct Support Professional and/or experience in this field for a combined total of 2 years.
- Core Competency E-Badge a plus.
- Must pass a Criminal Background check and Health Screening/TB tests, including COVID-19 testing and requirements for public health/CDC/ company regulations.
