The Team Lead plays a crucial role in leading a team of technicians to deliver exceptional HVAC services to our clients. Reporting directly to the Area Manager or Service Manager, the incumbent is responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring quality service delivery, and fostering a collaborative team environment. This position requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise in HVAC systems, and the ability to manage both personnel and operational challenges effectively.

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

        Supervise and coordinate activities of HVAC technicians, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient operations and high-quality service delivery.

        Ensure service calls and maintenance tasks are completed on time and within budget, meeting company standards and customer expectations.

        Demonstrate proficiency in troubleshooting HVAC systems, providing technical support and training to team members as needed.

        Foster positive relationships with clients by addressing concerns, resolving issues promptly, and ensuring overall satisfaction with our services.

        Enforce safety policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and promoting a safe work environment.

        Manage inventory levels, equipment, and vehicle maintenance to support efficient operations and minimize downtime.

        Prepare and maintain accurate records, including service reports, work orders, and other documentation required for operational and administrative purposes.

        Support the professional growth of team members through training initiatives, performance evaluations, and mentoring.

        Identify operational challenges and implement effective solutions to enhance productivity and service quality.

        Recommend process improvements and best practices.

        Adhere to and promote the Company Core Values.

        Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the

efficient and effective functioning of equipment operation.

 Knowledge and Skills Required

  • Minimum 3 years of documented commercial HVAC operations, maintenance and repair experience in the HVAC trade.
  • Graduate of an HVAC technical institute or school. Universal EPS Refrigeration Certificate.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others and also work independently with little direction.
  • Valid driver's license and Evidence of Insurability.
  • Able to competently handle a large vehicle (such as a van) including parking and maneuvering in tight spaces.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of HVAC systems, including installation, maintenance and repair.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and team members.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve technical issues and operational challenges.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Dedication to meeting customer needs and exceeding expectations through quality service delivery.
  • Understanding of safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Hands-on knowledge of one or more of the following:
      • HVAC systems (1-50 Tons)
      • Commercial Refrigeration
      • Boilers (gas and oil-fired)
      • Electrical Troubleshooting
      • Digital Controls
  • Able to work a flexible schedule including overtime, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
  • Other job-related duties may be reasonably assigned by supervisor.
