Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Nursing to lead our nursing team at a state-of-the-art Pain Management Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC). The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, clinical expertise, and, most importantly, extensive experience with JCAHO (Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations) inspections. This individual will ensure the highest standards of patient care, regulatory compliance, and quality management while driving continuous improvement in all nursing operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Oversight: Lead and manage the nursing team to ensure the delivery of exceptional care in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment.
- JCAHO Compliance: Serve as the key point of contact for JCAHO accreditation processes. Ensure the ASC is always prepared for inspections, audits, and surveys by maintaining current knowledge of all standards and regulations.
- Quality Assurance: Oversee the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure adherence to JCAHO standards and other regulatory requirements. Continuously monitor the quality of patient care and outcomes.
- Staff Development and Training: Provide ongoing education and training to nursing staff to ensure they are compliant with JCAHO standards, best practices, and the latest industry guidelines.
- Regulatory Reporting: Maintain accurate records and documentation for regulatory inspections. Ensure timely submission of reports and corrective action plans when necessary.
- Patient Care Coordination: Work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare providers to ensure optimal patient care throughout the surgical process, from pre-op to recovery.
- Policy and Procedure Development: Develop and refine nursing and clinical procedures in accordance with JCAHO guidelines, best practices, and patient safety standards.
- Operational Efficiency: Collaborate with the ASC leadership team to improve operational processes, patient flow, and nursing practices to maximize efficiency and minimize risks.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks related to nursing operations and patient safety, and develop mitigation strategies to ensure a safe, compliant, and effective environment.
Qualifications:
- Education: Registered Nurse (RN) with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration; certification in Nursing Leadership or related field is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of nursing leadership experience, including at least 3 years in a pain management or surgical setting.
- JCAHO Expertise: Proven experience leading or managing JCAHO accreditation processes for ambulatory surgery centers or healthcare facilities. Extensive knowledge of JCAHO standards, procedures, and survey protocols.
- Clinical Expertise: Strong background in pain management nursing practices is preferred, including pre-operative and post-operative care, patient safety, and clinical nursing standards.
