What are the responsibilities and job description for the Gastroenterology Surgery Coordinator position at Total Gastroenterology?
Immediate opening for Surgery Scheduler/Office Chart Prepping Medical Assistant position for a fast-paced Gastroenterology office, bilingual preferred but not required. 1 year minimum experience in a doctors office setting required. Gastroenterology experience preferred but not required. The Medical Assistant, under the direction of the their manager and/or Clinical Supervisor, provides appropriate care to patients. Along with using an EMR system, candidate must be able to:
* Multi-task
* Answer multi-line phones
* Be efficient with patient data entry on a computer for scheduling follow up appointments
* Prepare patient charts for upcoming clinic days
* Co-ordinate with facilities of upcoming patient surgeries that are scheduled and what paperwork is needed for their procedures
* Request patient medical records from outside providers and follow-up as necessary to ensure receipt
* Accurate scanning and placement of documents into patient charts and labeled correctly to include attaching reports to referral/order in order to close the referral loop
*Partners with other departments/Specialists to assist in the coordination of care when needed
* Candidate must be able to work independently without direct supervision.
Traveling may be needed to remote office locations during business hours.
