Job Description
Summary/objective
The Packaging Technician / Lab technician is a split role between the packaging portion and the lab portion of the processing department.
The Packaging Technician is responsible for various work responsibilities in the Processing/Packaging division. Such as gramming, QC checks and packaging of varies products, applying labels etc.
The Lab Technician portion is expected to help run and maintain the BHO extraction equipment, while providing support to the rest of the team with daily tasks and sanitation needs. This is a physically demanding position, and the Extraction Technician will be expected to maintain a fast pace while always ensuring accuracy and quality.

- Inspect finished product for quality issues
- Advise leadership of quality or compliance issues in a timely manner
- Prepare finished product for lab testing
- Prepare product which has passed its compliance testing for final packaging and shipment
- Maintain accurate records, including those which track labor, inventory, and quality issues
- Assist in ensuring that METRC and Canix properly reflect each other and physical inventory
- Verify the accuracy of METRC tags, product labels, and package counts
- Ensure that inventory is properly accounted for, accurate, appropriately identified, and showing in the appropriate location
- Support the shipping process by verifying the correct packages are in each shipment and all labeling is correct
- Maintains strong interdepartmental relationships
- Cleans tools, equipment, and work stations as needed
· Assemble, operate, reset, and clean BHO extraction equipment
· Follow very specific guidelines in manufacturing BHO product
· Organization and Operation of Sanitation station, Closing needs for the department
· Organization of BHO paperwork and follow proper compliance protocol
· Tracking the fresh frozen intake, the organization of the freezers, and updating any outtake/usage of any fresh frozen or cured material.
· Upkeep of all lab equipment regardless of level - employee, sub-contractor, or manufacturer- and working with management to get any equipment needing repair or maintenance completed, if it exceeds the employee level of maintenance.
· Oversee and regulate the gramming and distribution of R&D samples for testing.
· Assist in any R&D projects dictated by ownership and/or management and adhere to the assigned methodologies without deviation and to completion, including but not limited to, the final collection and dissemination of all results.
· Maintaining a positive supportive role for the team in leading them to success.
· Helping in the assessment of product and production path it should take.

Required education and experience
- High School diploma or equivalent
Preferred education and experience
- Experience with cannabis cultivation or agriculture 1 years
- Associates Degree
- Knowledge of cannabis and health benefits
- Familiarity with METRC and/or Canix systems
- Familiarity with federal, state, and local requirements regarding the cannabis industry

BACKGROUND CHECK
As a condition of employment, all employees are required to submit to a state required background check. CAREGIVER STATUS
According to Medical Marijuana Laws, when a registered primary caregiver is hired as an employee of a grower, processor, or secure transporter, the individual must withdraw registration as a registered primary caregiver in a manner established by the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs. Failure to comply with this mandate will result in termination (if already an employee), or termination of the rights to be considered for employment with the THC companies.
