Job Description:
We are seeking a Receiving Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our receiving department. This role is critical in ensuring the efficient, timely, and accurate handling of all incoming shipments, maintaining inventory accuracy, and upholding the highest standards of safety and quality. As the Receiving Supervisor, you will coordinate with various departments, manage a team of employees, and implement best practices to optimize logistics and warehouse functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise employees involved in unloading materials, checking invoices, pulling stock, operating material handling equipment, and other warehouse duties.
- Assist receiving personnel with material/product receipts and shipment requirements.
- Investigate receiving discrepancies.
- Test and license forklift drivers.
- Approve and track work hours and productivity.
- Assist with internal/external corrective actions as needed.
- Strive to meet established goals and objectives, continuously seeking improvements and cost reduction ideas.
- Focus on safety, adherence to safety policies, and continuous attention to housekeeping for the work area and facility.
- Maintain receiving records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established procedures.
- Determine work procedures, prepare work schedules, and expedite workflow.
- Provide written and oral instructions to improve the efficiency of receiving employees.
- Ensure quality assurance procedures for inbound shipments are being followed.
- Supervise compliance with company policies and standards.
- Perform miscellaneous duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in shipping/receiving operations, with a focus on supervision.
- Strong knowledge of safety procedures and quality assurance.
- Ability to manage and motivate a team.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
