Position Overview

The Industrial Pipefitter is a critical member of Total-Western’s field team, responsible for the installation, assembly, maintenance, and repair of piping systems in industrial facilities. This role requires expertise in reading blueprints, interpreting specifications, and working with a variety of piping materials to ensure systems meet rigorous safety and quality standards. The Industrial Pipefitter plays a vital role in ensuring the success of projects across multiple industries, contributing to Total-Western’s reputation for excellence and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Pipe Installation and Assembly: Measure, cut, thread, and assemble pipes, ensuring proper alignment and secure fittings according to blueprints and project specifications.
• System Maintenance and Repair: Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair piping systems to ensure they meet operational and safety standards.
• Welding and Fabrication: Perform welding and pipe fabrication tasks as required, adhering to ASME codes and Total-Western’s quality standards.
• Blueprint and Specification Interpretation: Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications to execute precise installations.
• Safety Compliance: Promote and adhere to Total-Western’s safety-first culture by following all safety protocols, wearing appropriate PPE, and participating in toolbox talks.
• Material Handling: Select and prepare appropriate materials, tools, and equipment for each task, ensuring efficient and accurate execution.
• Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, supervisors, and other tradespeople to ensure seamless coordination and project success.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in pipefitting or related fields is preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as an industrial pipefitter, with a proven track record of working on complex piping systems.
• Strong knowledge of ASME codes, pipefitting techniques, and industrial safety standards.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, and project specifications.
• Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure in fast-paced environments.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in industries such as oil and gas, petrochemical, food & beverage, or renewable energy.
• Certification in pipe welding (e.g., ASME Section IX).
• Familiarity with advanced tools and techniques, including CNC pipe cutting machines and automated welding systems.

Work Environment

This is a field-based role requiring work in industrial environments and outdoor conditions, including exposure to diverse weather and site-specific challenges. The position involves physical tasks such as lifting, climbing, and standing for extended periods. Strict adherence to safety protocols and use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory.

Reporting Structure

The Industrial Pipefitter reports to the Field Supervisor and works closely with other tradespeople, project managers, and safety personnel to complete tasks and achieve project objectives.

• Hourly Range: $25 - $35 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
