Job description
The Facility Administrator/Nurse Manager is responsible for all facility operations. They work closely and consult with all departments within the Emergency Center to develop, improve, implement and maintain both clinical and administrative processes that enhance the quality of care and achieve a high level of patient and physician satisfaction. The Facility Administrator/Nurse Manager will uphold TotalCare’s policies and procedures incongruence with all applicable state and federal laws, rules, and regulations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
● Responsible for the direction of the Emergency Center staff. Supports and empowers staff to embrace TotalCare’s mission and values.
● Oversees the Front Office, Nursing, Pharmacy, Laboratory, and Radiology efforts and complies with risk management/quality assurance, environment of care/life safety, and infection control.
● Develops short and long-term goals for each department.
● Prepares schedule to maintain adequate staff levels that meet unit requirements.
● Acts as Safety Officer and ensures the building and properties are up to appropriate safety and cleanliness standards are well maintained.
● Oversees that appropriate stock of supplies, medication, and disposable goods within the facility are maintained at all times.
● Leads the resolution of customer complaints and concerns by diffusing upset customers, offering service recovery when appropriate, providing action plans and staff education, and documentation per DSHS guidelines.
● Creates a culture of exemplary customer service, leading by example, and providing constant mentoring and coaching to clinical staff.
● Demonstrates an ability to be flexible, organized, and function under stressful situations. May be required to work outside of traditional work hours to meet the overall demands of the job and take calls after work hours. Will participate in the on-call schedule in conjunction with other management members.
● Assures compliance with all policies and procedures and ensures that documentation meets current standards. Assists with themodification/development of policies and procedures, clinical and other related forms/documents to accommodate operation/required changes per local, state and Federal laws.
● Collaborate and manage QAPI requirements of Patient Safety, Clinical, Infection Control, Employee Health, and Pharmacy & Therapeutics.
● Collaborate with TotalCare ER Educator on staff educational material, programs, and training
● Oversee employee health team and records, ensuring all necessary documents are accurate and up-to-date.
● Will work with the Billing Department to effectively process claims and payments. Oversees front office processes to maintain proper accounting procedures.
●In conjunction with Recruiting and Human Resources departments, will perform management activities such as interviewing, onboarding, evaluating, disciplinary counseling, and termination of staff.
● Facilitate weekly one-on-one meetings with all direct reports
● Hold monthly facility meetings and daily huddles to ensure effective communication for all teams/shifts
●Other duties as assigned or requested by the supervisor or other members of the Executive Team.
MARGINAL / NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
●Daily operations of the facility including but not limited to: maintenance, inventory, housekeeping, linen services, and proper function of the utilities.
● Check and respond to emails in a timely manner.
● Assist with training new Facility Administrators or Managers
● Attend monthly leadership meetings, weekly leadership training classes and weekly company-wide meetings
● May have to provide back-up assistance on the nursing floor or front office.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Provides direct supervision to the front office staff, MAs, LVNs, RNs, radiology personnel, pharmacy and their relative managers/supervisors.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
● Management/Leadership experience of at least three years
● Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (Master of Science in Nursing preferred)
● At least four years of registered nurse and/or emergency room nursing experience.
● Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:
o Current RN license and licensed to work in the state of Texas.
o CPR/BLS Certification required.
o ACLS Certification required.
o PALS Certification required.
o TNCC preferred but not required.
o ENA preferred but not required.
o ENPC preferred but not required.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
● Ability to read, write and speak English to converse with patients
● Knowledge of how to operate basic office equipment such as multi-line phone, computer, printer/copy/fax/scanner machine
● Able to maintain a polite and professional demeanor while providing excellent customer service.
● Strong judgment and leadership skills as well as ability to be a high-functioning team player.
● Detail oriented with exceptional interpersonal communication skills.
● Knowledge of OSHA, HIPAA, and CLIA standards and requirements.
● Ability to accurately read and write medical terminology
● Ability to multitask and work independently in a clinical setting using sound judgment in a high-pressure environment while maintaining excellent patient care and customer service.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
● Must be able to bend, lift, twist, sit and/or stand/walk for up to 12 hours daily.
● Communicate with patients who have inquiries; must be able to exchange accurate information
● Must be able to move between work areas, office machinery, patient exam rooms and to other various locations throughout the facility.
● Must be able to see the computer screen and be able to participate in training classes where computer screens are references or by handouts and/or hands-on training.

● No adverse environmental conditions; position is located indoors
● Physical exertion in addition to hazardous work conditions; this position involves exposure to blood, bodily fluids or tissues as well as airborne contagions. Proper PPE is provided for employee protection.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
● Travel between TotalCare facilities for meetings, training sessions or shift coverage may arise and is considered within the scope of this position.
