The Senior Financial Reporting Advisor is a key player in ensuring the integrity of the financial reporting processes for all activities within scope. Additional responsibilities include:
Cost Control:
- Monthly follow of costs through joint venture billings
- Analysis of the billings, ensuring that they are correctly accounted for, proposal of accruals to the VP Asset Manager.
- Work together to Cost Control Department to follow the same guidelines as for the other assets
- Keep updated financial model for the assets.
- Prepare Galaxy/Galyz monthly reporting and ensure accuracy and consistency with SAP.
- Maintain working files in support of the monthly reporting and analysis to ensure the accuracy of calculations and resulting reports.
- Monthly reporting and key performance indicators to HQ and internal management.
- Variance analysis of Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow and Working Capital.
- Essbase & Hyperion Database Management and process documentation, including leading systems development.
- Assist with preparing custom financial presentations for executive meetings/HQ.
- Quarterly reporting to consolidation team (IFRS) and supporting SoX documentation to satisfy SoX controls.
- Deferred Tax reporting and analysis. Work closely with the tax department to provide them with accurate and timely financial data.
- Assist with external quarterly/annual audit w/PWC.
- Research, document, and apply US GAAP and IFRS Accounting Principles.
- Develop models and tools to enhance variance analysis and trending.
- Oversee month-end and quarter end closure process for all entities under scope, including ensuring that CAP (Consolidated Accounts) are correctly and timely submitted to HQ while performing reconciliation between CAP and Galaxy.
- Review financial statements and systematically review all journal entries and account reconciliations on a monthly basis.
- Manage digitalization transformation including but not limited to Essbase and/or other related financial reporting tools.
- In-charge of the intercompany reconciliation process for TEEP SW Texas.
- Manages relationship with Tax Department including handling all tax requests and calculations, reviewing all tax packages.
- SOX key process owner and completes all requests from IC and auditors.
- Manages financials including topsides and changes from accounting and management.
- Present financials and related results to management.
- Assist with preparation of annual Budget and presentations for DIG/COMEX.
- Assist with preparation of periodic forecasts for inclusion in monthly reporting.
- Evaluation account reconciliations for completeness and coordinate solutions when issues are identified.
- Closely monitor the cash position of the affiliate and the balances of the affiliates’ s loans.
- Prepare treasury reporting and analysis as needed.
Education/Experience:
- BBA in Accounting or equivalent experience, CPA preferred
- 7 years' experience in financial reporting, energy industry experience preferred.
- Strong (written and oral) communication and interpersonal skills necessary to collaborate across internal functions (i.e. Accounting, Legal, Project Finance, etc.) and also with external tax service providers.
- Knowledgeable of IFRS; able to research, document, and apply relevant accounting standards.
- Superb attention to detail and ability to deliver results in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Comfortable with working autonomously, initiating the necessary discussions across functions.
- Experience in influencing without formal authority, and in mentoring and training others.
- Team oriented and willing to challenge the status quo.
- Excellent analytical & communication skills required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint and Word). SAP, BW, Essbase/Hyperion knowledge is a plus.
