Job Summary:
The Childcare Center Director is responsible for leading and inspiring a team of educators, fostering relationships with families, ensuring compliance with regulations, and driving the center’s vision forward. This role includes managing team meetings, weekly check-ins with the childcare coach, and maintaining open communication with the remote owner through weekly meetings and documentation.
Key Responsibilities:Leadership & Team Development
- Conduct weekly team meetings to provide updates, address challenges, and celebrate successes.
- Foster a collaborative and positive work culture aligned with the center’s values.
- Provide ongoing coaching and support to staff, ensuring professional growth and high-quality interactions with children.
- Manage hiring, onboarding, and staff performance evaluations.
- Support staff in implementing play-based, Reggio-inspired learning experiences.
Communication & Relationship Building
- Build strong, trusting relationships with staff, families, and the community.
- Serve as the primary contact for parents, ensuring concerns are addressed promptly and effectively.
- Hold weekly meetings with the childcare coach to review staff development and program quality.
- Maintain weekly check-ins with the owner, providing operational updates and discussing any needs or concerns.
Operational & Compliance Management
- Oversee daily operations to ensure efficiency, safety, and compliance with state licensing regulations.
- Maintain accurate records, including enrollment, attendance, staff schedules, and compliance documentation.
- Ensure proper staff coverage and ratios, making adjustments as needed.
- Manage budgets, payroll, and inventory in collaboration with the remote owner.
- Conduct regular classroom observations to ensure alignment with the center’s educational philosophy.
Program Quality & Documentation
- Support teachers in implementing engaging, child-centered learning experiences.
- Document key aspects of classroom learning, staff performance, and parent communications.
- Track and analyze data to drive program improvements.
- Ensure thorough documentation of team meetings, coaching sessions, and owner check-ins.
Personal Growth & Professional Development
- Seek opportunities for leadership growth and professional development.
- Stay updated on early childhood education best practices, licensing requirements, and play-based learning approaches.
- Participate in networking opportunities to enhance the center’s success.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field preferred.
