What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Assurance Technician (2nd shift) position at Toter, LLC?
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor production processes and verify correct formulations using computerized systems.
- Perform daily calculations of compounding blends to support production needs and validate equipment setup.
- Conduct in-process testing, including dart impact and assessments.
- Perform visual inspections of color let-downs to ensure color consistency.
- Carry out incoming material inspections as needed.
- Audit in-process and finished goods to verify compliance with quality standards; document findings using control plan inspection checklists.
- Support the Quality Assurance Manager with calibration tasks (tools, gauges, fixtures, etc.).
- Use hand tools to extract and prepare test samples from finished products.
- Use of various tools and equipment, such as calipers, micrometers, gauges to measure and assess product dimensions, tolerances and other critical parameters.
- Review product charge weights against the Bill of Materials (BOM) and recommend necessary adjustments.
- Conduct audits of outgoing products to ensure adherence to customer and company specifications.
- Perform additional related tasks and duties as assigned.
- Provide occasional oversight of temporary employees as required by supervisors or managers.
- Accurately recording inspection and test results, documenting findings, and maintaining records of quality control activities.
- Identifying and addressing quality issues, defects, and non-conformances.
- Collaborating with other departments, such as engineering and production, to implement corrective actions and process improvements.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or technical certification in quality, manufacturing, or a related field is a plus.
- 1–3 years of experience in a quality assurance or manufacturing environment preferred.
- Basic understanding of quality systems, inspection procedures, and production processes.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, including work instructions and BOM, SOP and QATM.
- Strong attention to detail with good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable using hand tools and testing equipment.
- Intermediate computer proficiency, including Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Willingness to occasionally work flexible hours or shifts based on production needs.
