Description
Our client, an established company in southern Indiana desires to add a Senior Buyer to its team. This role involves Reporting, Material Purchasing, Inventory Monitoring, and Managing Vendors.
Job Responsibilities :
- Review material needs to ensure a steady supply for production, using tools like MRP, pull indicators, and new product plans
- Build and manage strong relationships with current and potential suppliers to meet cost, quality, and delivery goals.
- Negotiate prices and delivery terms to reduce material costs, inventory, and transportation expenses while meeting production needs
- Oversee the purchasing of components, including placing orders and resolving any discrepancies.
- Create and update reports to track inventory levels and support production schedules.
- Address material shortages and production delays by working closely with production teams and suppliers.
- Use lean inventory management techniques, including just-in-time planning and point of use stocking.
- Collaborate with site management to organize workflow, including release dates and production schedules.
- Keep accurate records of finished goods, work-in-progress, and material resources.
- Provide assistance in the stock room and production areas as needed.
