Overview
The Custodian will oversee daily custodial activities at Touro University Nevada (TUN). The custodian will report to the Custodial Supervisor.

Responsibilities
1. Performs general, routine custodial duties to ensure the campus meets TUN high cleaning standard. Work includes dusting, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning restrooms, restocking paper and soap supplies and checking supply levels.2. Performs routine maintenance to custodial equipment and supplies.3. Empties trash receptacles, disposes trash into dumpsters.4. Reports needs and concerns to Custodial Supervisor which may include submitting or recommending work orders.5. Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies.6. Adheres to safe working practices and safety programs.7. Assists in on-the-job training of new staff on routine procedures.8. Performs cleaning functions specific to the assigned facilities and/or based on seasonal/project requirements.9. May provide vendors with access to areas for cleaning and may answer basic questions.10. Basic understanding of Safety Data Sheets (SDS).11. Assist with event setups and other duties as directed.
Qualifications
Education:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D Required.
Experience:
- 2 years of custodial experience
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Possession of a valid Nevada driver’s license
- Ability and clearance to drive company vehicles
- Ability to work varied shifts
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures
- Good customer service skills with a desire to exceed customer’s expectations
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to use and experience with auto scrubbers
- Ability to use and experience with floor machines (buffers, KyVacs, etc.)
- Ability to use carpet machines
- Knowledge of custodial related chemicals and supplies
- Ability to climb ladders up to 8 ft. and feel comfortable with heights
- Ability to safely lift up to 30 lbs. regularly
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to bend, stoops, crouches, pushes, pulls, and reaches above shoulders in the performance of duties
- Basic understanding of Microsoft Office programs
