• The Monitor Technician performs high-level, on-going patient surveillance.-
• Provides nursing/clinicians with immediate notification of any changes in cardiac rate/rhythm.
• Responsible for monitoring, recording, and reporting heart rhythm from patient cardiac monitors.
• Depending on location, may also monitor seizure and fall risk activity for patients with orders of telemetry, and general patient observation.
• Initiates and discontinues monitoring equipment on admission, transfer, or discharge.
• Conducts maintenance and troubleshooting related to the monitoring equipment on the patient to ensure equipment is in working order to allow for clear monitoring.

• High School Diploma or GED. Experience may be considered in lieu of education.
