Position Purpose
Town and Country Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our dynamic team.
The Veterinary Technician assists the veterinarians and other technicians with patient care and treatment, monitors hospitalized pets, maintains inventory, prepares prescriptions, performs routine in-house laboratory work, educates clients regarding veterinary care and procedures, and assists with surgical procedures.

Essential Responsibilities
- Assisting veterinarians with medical and surgical procedures
- Providing compassionate care to pets and ensuring client satisfaction
- Maintaining accurate and organized medical records
- Educating clients on post-surgical care, medications, and preventative health measures
- Supporting a collaborative and positive team environment
- Communicate with veterinarians and practice team members including client discussions, patient plans, client concerns, etc.
- Any other duties as assigned.
Requirements/Qualifications
- Ability to work on weekends as required
- Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance
- Practice OSHA safety techniques including proper PPE
- Proficiency in catheter placement and intubation
- Experience as a surgery technician
- Familiarity with performing and processing x-rays
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to effectively communicate and teach clients about pet care
- A proactive, go-getter attitude with strong self-starter skills
- Demonstrated leadership abilities
