Position Overview :

The Town of Avon, Colorado, is accepting applications for a Sports Program Attendant II

The Sports Program Attendant II is responsible for leading, coordinating and monitoring athletic programs hosted by the Town of Avon Recreation Department while maintaining standards of play and ensuring that rules are being observed. This position is considered Part Time / Year-Round.

Essential Functions :

Assists the Recreation Program Supervisor with coordinating sports programs.
Responsible for collecting payments for drop-in athletics and leagues.
Ensures all possible safety measures are observed.
Enforces the rules of the program and the facility.
Leads activity to demonstrate quality play and to encourage participation.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Knowledge of principles and procedures of various sports programs, safety requirements, and for

providing meaningful customer service

Knowledge and skills in using Microsoft Office programs and Recreation management software

Ability to communicate effectively with patrons

Ability to work independently with minimum supervision

CPR / AED / First Aid certification is preferred

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions

Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing

Ability to communicate in English effectively both verbally and in writing; Spanish is considered a plus

A high school diploma is required and previous experience participating

in sports is preferred. At least two years of experience supervising sports programming required.

CPR / AED / First Aid certification is required within 3 months of hire.

Special Requirements : The Town reserves the right to suspend or extend the posting deadline based on receipt of qualified candidates.

A background check and reference checks will be required prior to employment.
