What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal Laborer position at Town of Barrington?
The Town of Barrington, NH (9,049) Highway Department is seeking an energetic and dedicated person for the full-time position of Season Laborer May – September time may extend based on need. Barrington is a 50-sq. mi. community with 80 miles of roads to maintain. The primary responsibility of this position is grounds maintenance, such as mowing, weed trimming etc. ,which will require operation of a light truck and trailer ,a zero turn mower , walk behind mower ,and powered string trimmers . This equipment will primarily be used to maintain about six public buildings in Town. When the mowing duties are complete, this position requires reasonable mechanical abilities to assist with vehicle maintenance and light repairs. There may be occasion when this person would be asked to assist the Highway crew on some road work.”
. Applicants must have a valid driver’s license. The position requires the use of hand tools, mowing cutting brush and to perform heavy manual tasks. Applicant must be willing to learn how to operate equipment. This is a seasonal 40-hour, hourly, non-exempt (eligible for overtime) position with a starting at $21.61- 22.70 per hour. Wage rate is dependent on knowledge and experience. This position is eligible for paid holidays.
