Deputy Commissioner of Public Works
The Town of Bethlehem, New York is seeking a Deputy Commissioner of Public Works. The candidate works directly under the supervision of the Commissioner. The candidate must have a strong knowledge of the principles and practices of engineering, and the design and construction of water mains, sanitary sewers, storm sewers, highways, buildings and other public works facilities including water and sewer plants. The candidate performs work of considerable complexity and difficulty, including project management and assisting the Commissioner in the supervision of a large department. Candidate also acts as the Town’s facilities manager, which includes direct supervision of facilities staff.
Requirements are: a Bachelor’s Degree and five (5) years of experience in the construction and maintenance of buildings, highways, infrastructure and / or related public works activities or an equivalent combination of experience and training. A Professional Engineer’s license issued by the State of New York at time of appointment is preferred, but is not required.
The salary range for this position is: $101,672 - $122,411.
