Job Description
The Town of Brewster is currently seeking an organized administrative professional with excellent customer service skills for the position of Department Assistant for the Council on Aging (COA). This position performs office, data entry, administrative, and public service work assisting with the operations of the department and serves as the first point of contact for the public.
Duties include but are not limited to scheduling appointments for COA in-house services and managing reservations for programs. Coordinates volunteer program, serves as primary contact for COA volunteers and schedules volunteers as needed; cultivates relationships with community for recruitment of volunteers. Schedules transportation for clients to medical appointments, shopping, and other appointments. Issues Senior Shellfish licenses recording transactions in database.
High school diploma or equivalent required, and a minimum of one year office or related experience; municipal experience preferred, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, with excellent multitasking skills with the ability to switch back and form between tasks with efficiency and accuracy. Interested? This is a full-time, 35-hour-per-week position, covered under the OPEIU Union agreement, with a full pay range of $25.52 - $33.30 per hour, starting pay dependent on qualifications and experience. Excellent benefits package includes paid time off, health insurance, and retirement benefits.
