What are the responsibilities and job description for the Youth Swim Team Assistant Head Coach position at Town of Brookline?
The Evelyn Kirrane Aquatics Center in Brookline is accepting applications for Part-time Assistant Head Coach for the Brookline Recreation Dolphins Youth Swim Team. The Aquatics center features a six lane, 25 yard lap pool, a shallow water (three to four feet deep) lesson pool, and a 12 foot deep diving well with two 1-meter diving boards.
We offer a winter competitive season that will run October-March. Pre-season planning may start as early as August-September. We also offer a spring session from March-June and a summer session from July-August.
The Assistant Head Coach will work under the guidance of the Head Coach to help design and administer a full-year training plan. In the absence of the Head Coach, the Assistant Head Coach will step in and be responsible for overseeing the team and assistant coaches, creating and administering workouts and lineups for swim meets, oversee the use of Colorado Timing System, act as Meet Director for all home swim meets, oversee and manage parent volunteers, and other related tasks. The Assistant Head Coach will work directly with the Head Coach, the Assistant Aquatics Director and Aquatics Supervisor to build a successful swim team.
Our Dolphins Swim Team is for youth ages 6-18.
Practices are offered Monday-Thursday from 5-8pm. Swim meets are on weekends.
Qualifications and Shift Availability:
Assistant Head Coach requires at least two years coaching competitive swim team: age group, club or USA. Practices are offered Monday-Thursday (5pm-8pm). Minimum age is 21 years old.
Preferred: Knowledge of Colorado Timing System, Team Unify, Team/Meet Manager
