What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal Street Laborer position at Town of Brownsburg?
RANGE REQUESTED: April - September (6:30 - 3:30 Monday-Friday)
Principal Function: Seasonal Laborer is responsible for maintaining Town streets and right-of-ways.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Assist with all aspects of the Street Department activities including service, repair and preventative street maintenance; and long-range road repair projects.
- Assist, as needed, with the maintenance of and repair of Town streets, alleys, and right-of-ways, including maintaining and mowing of Town properties and right-of-ways; patching and resurfacing streets; grading alleys; repairing and replacing signs and sidewalks, catch basins, manholes, storm lines, sanitary lines, streets, and curbs; installing flags and banners; trimming trees; changing Town traffic signal bulbs; and removal of debris from Town streets.
- Assist with the maintenance and setting of barricades, cones and needed signs for events or hazards.
- Assist with directing traffic for projects as needed.
- Assist with the chipper truck duties including stick and leaf pick-up.
- Assist with, as required, the general maintenance of all Street Department buildings.
- Assist, as needed, with responding to inquiries and complaints regarding Town streets and related areas and initiate action to resolve valid complaints/requests.
- All other duties as assigned by the Street Superintendent or his/her representative.
