Hourly wage: $32.00 hour
Expected Hours - 18 – 22 hrs./week
All Program Support employees do not accrue Town benefits and may not work more than 950 hours in a rolling 12-month period.
Essential Functions
Responsibilities:
Content Creation and Management:
Write, edit, and optimize web content, including text, images, and multimedia elements, to enhance user experience, engagement, and accessibility.
Content Review and Quality Assurance:
Review and proofread content for accuracy, clarity, and compliance with content strategy and guidelines.
Stakeholder Communication:
Communicate regularly with internal stakeholders and external vendors to gather content requirements and provide updates on project progress.
Documentation and Guidelines:
Create content guidelines and approval processes to ensure consistency and quality across all web pages.
Project Management Assistance:
Assist in the planning and execution of the website redesign project, ensuring that content-related tasks are completed on time and to a high standard.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (or progress towards degree) in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field
- 1-2 years’ experience in writing for the web and digital content creation, preferably in a government or public sector setting.
- Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise, and engaging content.
- Some familiarity with content management systems (CMS) and web publishing tools, experience with Granicus is a bonus
- Knowledge of SEO best practices and web accessibility standards.
- Experience with user testing and content optimization.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
