The Town of Clayton is seeking applicants for a Temporary Part-Time (up to 20 hours per week) Administrative Assistant for the Community Development Services Department . The Town of Clayton employs more than 340 full-time staff in areas including police, fire, and electric utilities. The Town of Clayton also offers a range of PT positions including positions in Parks & Rec, Library, and Cultural Arts.

Duties & Responsibilities
The purpose of this position is to support staff with administrative duties, including file management and record retention support. Work is closely monitored by supervisor / manager; clearly stated instructions and procedures are generally provided; tasks, duties, and responsibilities are generally standardized and routine in nature; instruction, advice, and assistance are readily available.
A normal schedule is associated with this position which involves working up to 20 hours per week within a Monday - Friday timeframe ( specific times set by supervisor ).
Special Requirements, Education & Experience
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES / COMPETENCIES :
Individual in this position should possess general knowledge of modern office practices and procedures including office automation equipment and software for word processing, data base management, and spreadsheets. Applicants should have a working knowledge of how to read and determine if plans, permits, and applications are planning, engineering, and building codes related s, as well as working knowledge and ability to use correct grammar, vocabulary, and spelling. Individuals should have the ability to create and maintain accurate detailed records; ability to plan and organize administrative support activities and tasks; ability to communicate effectively in person; ability to maintain records and files and to gather and compile data from a variety of sources.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS :
High school diploma or GED with experience in Planning, Engineering, and / or Inspections.

When a salary range is posted, the actual salary will be based on relevant competencies, knowledge, skills & abilities, internal equity and budgetary considerations pertinent to the advertised position.
