Job Description
Candidate Skills and Qualifications – Chief of Police, Town of Davidson, NC
The Town of Davidson Chief of Police must possess strong leadership skills. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

- A positive, problem-solving mindset demonstrated and developed in the members of the organization,
- An effective communicator and team player within the Police Department, with the Town’s management team, elected officials, with the public, and with other regional partners,
- Ability to demonstrate a progressive approach to law enforcement in a unique setting,
- A leader of excellent character and possesses the ability to maintain the healthy, ethical culture of the Department.
- Must have thorough knowledge of the CALEA accreditation process
Minimum qualifications, in addition to the skills and abilities described above, and the requirements of the attached position description, the successful candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree, advanced professional training, and a minimum of 10 years law enforcement experience with progressively responsible management / supervisory experience in a public law enforcement agency, OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience sufficient to fulfill the requirements of this position. Must have considerably knowledge of the application of information technology to further the work of the department.
The position requires certification as a Police Officer through the NC Criminal Justice Education and Standards Commission. Salary range $88,620 - $131,929 dependent on experience and qualifications. Submittal of applications close on Monday, October 17, 2022. Interviews will tentatively be scheduled for the week of November 7th. Preliminary interviews will be scheduled by US ISS Agency, LLC.
