What are the responsibilities and job description for the Treasurer position at Town of Dexter?
- THE TOWN OF DEXTER IS HIRING A TREASURER. This is a part time position. You do NOT have to live in our town to be considered for employment.
- Duties include but are not limited to those as described in Wisconsin Statutes 60.34(1)(2)(3)(4). Please research these statutes before applying for the position.
- The right person for this appointment shall be a self-motivated individual skilled in bookkeeping, accounting capabilities, and money handling experience.
- Shall be flexible with good time management skills.
- Shall be required to send out property tax bills, post property tax payments as required, and send property tax receipts.
- Shall send out dog applications and licenses maintaining a current record of all dogs and rabies certificates.
- Shall deposit tax payments into the town bank account and upload property tax receipts to the county treasurer during tax season.
- Shall maintain a file of all receipts and payments made and reconcile those receipts and payments monthly reporting them to the Town Board at the monthly town board meeting.
- Shall also maintain a file of all receipts, written checks, and EFT payments.
- Shall work in concert with the Town Clerk.
- The position has a start date of April 1, 2025.
