The Town of Eagle is seeking a dynamic Open Space & Trails Manager to oversee and shape the future of our open space and trails program. Job Summary:

- Supervise a dedicated team, collaborate with key stakeholders, and work alongside outdoor enthusiasts.
- From strategic planning to trail maintenance, no two days are the same.
- Work directly with residents, environmental groups, and government agencies to make a lasting difference.
- Spend time in the great outdoors, working in some of Colorado's most scenic landscapes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Town's open space and trail programs, ensuring alignment with the Open Space & Trails Master Plan.
- Plan for the future by developing and executing land acquisition and conservation strategies.
- Oversee trail development including planning, maintenance, and improvements in collaboration with developers, agencies, and stakeholders.
- Engage the community by managing the Open Space & Recreation Advisory Committee (OSRAC), facilitating public meetings, and coordinating special events.
- Secure funding through grants and budget management to enhance open space and recreation opportunities.
- Ensure environmental stewardship by implementing sustainable land management practices, weed and pest control programs, and habitat restoration initiatives.
- Supervise and inspire seasonal staff, volunteers, and contractors to uphold high standards in open space maintenance and recreational access.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Planning, Landscape Architecture, Parks & Recreation Administration, Natural Resources Management, or a related field (Master's preferred).
- 4 years of experience in open space, trails management, or land conservation.
- 2 years of supervisory experience.
- Strong background in open space planning, land acquisitions, and trail management.
- Experience with grant writing, budgeting, and strategic planning.
- Ability to build relationships with public agencies, local government, and community groups.
- Strong communication and public engagement skills.
- Proficiency in GIS mapping and data analysis preferred.
- Valid Colorado driver's license (or ability to obtain within 30 days).
- Ability to hike, bike, and navigate rugged terrain as part of fieldwork duties.
- Must pass a pre-employment background and motor vehicle records check.
