Police Records & Information Technician (I or II)
You are a detail-driven professional with a passion for supporting public safety? We are seeking a reliable and motivated Police Records & Information Technician to support our team. Compensation
• Technician I: $23.63 - $28.36 / hour
• Technician II: $26.04 - $31.25 / hour
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for managing records, data, digital evidence, and critical support functions that keep our department running smoothly. Your day may include:
• Providing excellent customer service at the front desk or over the phone
• Managing and releasing records in compliance with laws and procedures
• Coordinating digital evidence and supporting investigations
• Supporting internal operations like reporting, procurement, and fleet maintenance
• Helping with public communication, property handling, and evidence room organization
• Playing a key role in data entry, quality control, and crime reporting systems (CCIC/NCIC, NIBRS)
This is an administrative role with real impact—supporting officers, victims, the justice system, and the community at large.

Requirements

Qualifications Overview:
Technician I:
• 1–2 years of clerical, administrative, or office experience
• Or an equivalent combination of experience and education
• Must obtain Notary Public within 1 month of hire
• Must obtain CCIC/NCIC certification and CJIS clearance within 6 months
• Must complete ICS 100 and 700 online courses within 3 months
• Valid Colorado driver's license and satisfactory driving record
Technician II:
• 3–4 years of clerical, administrative, or office experience
• Or an equivalent combination of experience and education
• Includes all Technician I requirements plus:
o International Association for Property and Evidence Certification
o G290: Basic Public Information Officer
o G291: Joint Information Center Training
o G191: ICS/EOC Interface Training
Additional Requirements (Both Levels):
• Ability to obtain Colorado Master Records Certification (within 2 years of hire)
• Ability to obtain NIBRS certification (within 2 years of hire)
• Strong computer, data entry, and communication skills
• High attention to detail, confidentiality, and professionalism
• Must pass comprehensive background checks (no felony convictions or disqualifying misdemeanors)
• Bilingual in Spanish? Highly desirable
