Non-Union: up to 40 hours per week
Salary: $16.50 - $19.50 per hour
General Description:
Position is responsible for everyday operational tasks at Aquatics Centers under the supervision and direction of the Aquatics Director & Head Lifeguard on Duty
Primary Essential Functions:

- Lifeguard and scan assigned zones of protection.
- Enforces rules and performs proper rotation.
- Provides safety assistance, rescues, emergency actions and first aid when necessary.
- Monitors participants and patrons of the facility.
- Provides the highest attention to safety for participant, self and fellow employees.
- Follows all established protocols for biohazard materials.
- Follows all aquatic facility rules and protects oneself from sun exposure.
- Immediately reports any hazardous conditions to the supervisor, including inability to scan the zones due to weather or other conditions.
- Maintains minimum number of in-service hours required by department and meets minimum standards for performance audits.
- Cleans and polices grounds, pool deck, bathrooms, and bathhouse facilities.
- Assists with accident reports, chemical level testing and reporting, answering phones, communicating with the users, facility inspections, and pool vacuuming.
- Teaches and assists with swim lessons, swim team and other programs and special events at Pine Knoll
Education and Experience:
- Must be at least 16 years of age
- One-year supervisory experience preferred
- YMCA or Red Cross Lifeguard certification
