POSITION PURPOSE/SUMMARY
Responsible for the safety of the patrons by preventing and responding to emergencies while working a shift at Quarry Hill Community School Pool. Non-Union: Part time, weekdays, evenings and weekends.
PRINCIPALE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Recognize emergencies and respond to them effectively.
Enforce all aquatic rules, policies, and regulations for all patrons.
Inspect the facility before opening and closing to report any unsafe conditions or equipment to the supervisor.
Test Water Quality, Set up the pool for appropriate swim prior to opening.
Sign-in all bathers using the facility.
Pick up any and all types of trash in and around the pool facility.
Complete all paperwork during shifts.
Participate in regular in-service training sessions.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Thorough knowledge of life guarding surveillance and rescue techniques.
An understanding of facility characteristics, rules, policies, and procedures.
Leadership and public relation skills.
Decision making skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with pool patrons.
CERTIFICATION
Current certification in the following is needed:
American Red Cross, YMCA Lifeguard Training or another Accredited Lifeguard Course.
American Red Cross, American Heart CPR (or other recognized accredited CPR course)for the Professional Rescuer including AED Certification.
American Red Cross or other Accredited First Aid Certification.
