ANIMAL SHELTER ATTENDANT
The Town of Exeter seeks a qualified applicant for part-time employment as Animal Shelter Attendant at the Exeter Animal Shelter.
This position requires knowledge and understanding of the principals and standards required for the humane care and treatment of animals. Previous animal handling experience and knowledge of animal diseases preferred. State of Rhode Island regulations regarding animal shelters, including but not limited to, maintaining shelter cleanliness and overall animal care, apply.
Applicant must be: organized, dependable, of a calm demeanor, a team player, able to work independently, able to lift heavy items, able to handle and control strong dogs, and be observant of changes in animal behavior.
Applicants must: possess a valid driver’s license, pass a criminal background check, work fifteen (15) hours per week (including weekdays, weekends, and some holidays), and maintain a flexible schedule. Wages and benefits are as set by Collective Bargaining Agreement.
