Utilities Laborer
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED
Receives direction from the Utilities Authority Director, the Deputy UA Director and upper management.
ESSENTIAL AND MARGINAL FUNCTION STATEMENTS--Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Essential Functions:
1. Assisting in construction and maintenance of streets, water and sewer lines.
2. Manually digging and filling holes.
3. Load and unload trucks and trailers.
4. Perform maintenance and cleaning of vehicles, equipment, and buildings.
5. Cut grass and clean the grounds.
6. Collect and load refuse into garbage trucks.
7. Perform work activities according to safe work practices and procedures.
8. Work and days and hours as assigned by management. Subject to call after regular working hours if the need arises.
9. Safety for oneself and others is a primary responsibility of every employee.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must have a good driving record and work history.
Perform minor maintenance activities on solid waste and other heavy equipment.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
Maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities which may include the following:
1. Walking, standing, lifting or sitting for extended periods of time
2. Operating assigned equipment and vehicles.
3. Maintain effective audio-visual discrimination and perception needed for:
4. Making observations
5. Communicating with others
6. Reading and writing
7. Operating assigned equipment and vehicles.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Environmental Conditions:
Travel from site to site; field environment; exposure to noise, dust, smoke, fumes, gases, infectious materials, and inclement weather conditions; work around heavy equipment.
Physical Conditions:
Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for walking, standing or sitting for prolonged periods of time; moderate to heavy lifting; and operating motorized equipment and vehicles.

Notice- This classification is a “safety sensitive” position as defined by the United States Department of Transportation drug and alcohol testing regulations, the Oklahoma Standards for Workplace Drug and Alcohol Testing Act and/or Oklahoma Medical Marijuana laws. As a “safety sensitive” classification, you will be subject to drug and alcohol testing, including random testing. Marijuana is one of the substances included in drug panel screening. Possession of a medical marijuana license will not excuse you from the testing process, or the consequences of testing positive for marijuana.

Pay: $14.33 - $19.62 per hour
