Team Gilbert has an exciting opportunity for a IT Project Manager - CIP. The IT Project Manager - CIP (Capital Improvement Plan) is the main point of contact between the Engineering Department and Information Technology for CIP projects. This position, working with both CIP and IT stakeholders, brings technology projects to completion on time and within budget. This position provides value by ensuring that the needs of Information Technology are included, properly planned, and implemented in CIP projects to standards set by both departments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Attending CIP planning meetings for annual preparation as well as regular CIP status meetings
· Work with the IT Project Portfolio Manager and Assistant CTO to provide input and direction during the annual budget planning process to develop multi-year comprehensive project scope, schedules, and budgets for CIP projects as it relates to IT requirements
· Responsible for the initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and closing of IT and CIP related projects
· Manage and document project related scope, schedule, costs, risks, issues and change orders of assigned projects in approved systems
· Prepare written reports on analysis of project performance and status using IT Project Management Office standards and present reports in regular status update meetings
· Works to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget
· Establishes relationships with business partner stakeholders and Information Technology project resources to help guide projects to successful completion
· Work as the liaison between the Information Technology resources and business partner stakeholders
· Coordinate with a diverse team of Information Technology resources while tracking project budget, managing consultants/vendors, managing schedules and providing project status updates
· Facilitate project meetings to include internal Information Technology, Engineering, business partner, contractor and vendor resources
· Review plans, specifications, technical reports, and construction cost estimates provided by engineering consultants for compliance with IT Department/Town standards
· Assess impact of CIP projects to adjacent IT projects to ensure alignment and resolve conflicting resource requirements · Make process improvement and standards recommendations across the Information Technology group to help create efficiencies
· Help develop and mature the Project Management Office procedures
· Keep current on industry best practices and technology concepts
· Facilitate end user training on projects as needed
· Other duties as assigned
Qualified candidates must possess the following requirements:
· Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Information Systems. However, a non-technical degree can be acceptable if complemented with the appropriate certifications and / or experience
· 3 years of Information Technology industry experience
· 3 years of IT Project Management managing IT Infrastructure and/or application projects
· General working knowledge of theoretical and practical aspects of project management
· Proficiency with MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Project
· Experience managing deliverables and milestones
· Excellent written, oral communication and interpersonal skills
· Demonstrated ability to balance, prioritize and organize multiple tasks
· Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships both within and outside the department
· Ability to travel within the town to different locations as project needs dictate
Licensing/Certifications:
· Project Management Professional certification (PMP) through the Project Management Institute (PMI) is preferred
