The Solid Waste & Recycling Outreach Specialist I reports to the Environmental Services Supervisor. The primary job duties of this position include:

This position is an At-Will position and is FLSA Non-Exempt - eligible for overtime compensation.

The Solid Waste & Recycling Outreach Specialist I reports to the Environmental Services Supervisor. The primary job duties of this position include:
- Conducts field inspections to educate and gain compliance from residents, employees and businesses.
- Prepares correspondence including letters, emails, newsletter contributions and electronic message board updates.
- Prepares and conducts presentations for schools, businesses and employees on waste reduction, waste diversion and sustainability.
- Create and update content for the Environmental Services webpages.
- Assists with the development of new digital communications.
- Coordinates with the Office of Digital Government on internal and external social media related to sustainable programs.
- Attends special events to increase awareness of solid waste programs and services.

- High School Diploma or GED.
- Associates degree preferred but not required.
- 1 year of experience in a customer RELATIONS environment.
- Circular Arizona Membership within 6 months of hire or promotion.
- SWANA Membership within 6 months of hire or promotion.
- Valid Arizona Driver's License required at the time of hire.

Salary : $23 - $33
