The Obstetrician / Gynecologist (OB / GYN) is responsible for providing medical care to women relating to pregnancy or childbirth; responsible for treating, testing, diagnosing, and monitoring diseases and provides general care to women.

Essential Duties :

Provides care and treatment to women during prenatal, natal, and postpartum periods.
Diagnoses, treats, and monitors diseases, disorders, and conditions.
Prescribes appropriate medications to treat patients in accordance with standardized procedures and company policy.
Performs pap smears, pelvic, and breast exams.
Introduces prenatal patients to our Pediatric Department for well-baby care.
Collaborates and consults with other medical and non-medical personnel.
Effectively monitors patients’ progress throughout treatment plan and care and provides continuous improvement on patient outcomes.
Educates patients on the importance of treatment plans and communicates side effects and risks of medications prescribed.
Educates patients on disease prevention and reproductive health.
Demonstrate effective and detailed written documentation skills.
Conducts routine check-up appointments and maintains follow-ups throughout patient care.
Demonstrates excellent customer service and communication with patients.
Able to multitask and manage assigned projects and tasks as directed.
Conducts mood and emotional well-being assessments during postpartum appointments.

Must possess or obtain a valid NYS Driver’s License.

Must perform all essential duties of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.

Qualifications :

Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Degree is required.

Licensed in the State of New York as an OB / GYN. DEA Certification is required.

Prior experience as an OB / GYN is preferred.

Ability to demonstrate excellent independent judgment, problem-solving, analytical, and collaborative skills in order to organize and prioritize multiple tasks, providing patient-centered leadership and direction.

Must have emotional intelligence that may include, but not limited to, patience, sensitivity, and the compassion to work with patients who may be stressed, anxious, or challenging.

Ability to work as a team.

Bilingual in English / Spanish is a plus.

Must have strong computer skills.

Must demonstrate detailed, effective writing / documentation and verbal skills.
