General Statement of Duties
Processes mail, makes deliveries, and performs other logistical tasks to support Greenwich Library operations.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
High School diploma, plus at least six (6) months of work experience providing clerical support as well as operating delivery vehicle for an organization.
Qualifications:
Demonstrated knowledge of safe driving habits and procedures, including knowledge of the laws and regulations for the operation of motor vehicles.
Proven ability to drive motor vehicles safely in various weather conditions.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50-pound containers while loading and unloading vehicles.
Ability to push and pull wheeled hand truck/cart/dolly, containers up to 125 pounds.
Demonstrated ability to perform the basic clerical tasks such as record keeping and form completion.
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate ideas and information both in written and oral form.
Proven ability to comprehend and follow instructions or any other type of information, verbally and in written form.
Proven ability to complete work within established time frames.
Valid Driver’s License.

Reports to: Facilities Manager
Duties and Responsibilities:
Operates Library van delivering miscellaneous library materials, equipment, and supplies between various locations in Greenwich and elsewhere in accordance with assigned delivery schedule and accepted safety standards.
Brings van for maintenance, for cleaning and washing, or to other Town sites as assigned.
Monitors and reports vehicle condition problems or concerns.
Maintains records of mileage, delivery loads, and other records as needed.
Loads and unloads packages, envelopes, and containers of books and other materials to assigned locations at each delivery stop.
Processes mail on a daily basis.
Monitors available balances in the mailing account and reports these to a supervisor.
May be assigned to empty book drops at all Greenwich library locations and other logistical tasks to support library operations.
Adheres to traffic laws and safety standards.
Supports Town policies and philosophies and performs other related duties as required.

All positions may be subject to an interview process. The Town reserves the right to limit the number of qualified candidates who will be invited to participate in the examination, or any part thereof.
All outside candidates will be required to undertake and successfully pass a pre-employment medical examination, which includes a substance abuse test that includes testing for THC (the psychoactive ingredient in marijuana), given at the Town's expense prior to employment if conditionally offered a part time, full time or safety sensitive position.
