What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pool/Beach Manager position at Town of Greenwich?
Responsible for operations of the pool/beach facility, ensuring operational expenditures are within budget. Coordinates staffing, training, scheduling, and timekeeping of staff.
Reports to the Marine Operations Manger.
Current certification in American Red Cross Lifeguard Training, Standard First Aid and CPR for the Professional Rescuer is a plus.
Current certification First Aid/CPR/AED or pass training prior to start date.
Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or pass a Certified Pool Operator's course prior to start date.
Individuals must be willing to work weekends and Holidays during the season.
Employees must report to work in clean Town-issued M&FO shirt while on duty, and are required to wear appropriate footwear.
Duties and Responsibilities:Oversees the facilities' functions as well as supervises staff assigned to the pool and beaches.
Assists with the hiring of seasonal lifeguards by reviewing applications, scheduling interviews, and overseeing onboarding.
Collaborates with the Lifeguard Supervisor to allocate the lifeguards to the four Greenwich beaches and pool, in order to maximize coverage at each location.
Monitors daily pool operations to adhere to all state and local health and safety regulations.
Conducts and ensures proper maintenance of pools. Secures and schedules pool facilities. Maintains accurate records of pool chemical levels and facilities maintenance.
Works with staff and vendors to arrange and implement appropriate maintenance of facility, maintain appropriate inventory of supplies, and arrange for the opening and closing of the facility.
Responsible to conduct training of the pool staff with assistance from the Lifeguard Supervisor.
Coordinates with Beach Manager to hire the pool beach crew and ticket staff, as well as schedules and supervises these seasonal employees.
Updates and maintains operations plan, including policies, operational details, timelines, training requirements, and position overviews.
Communicates daily with on location full-time (foreman/caretaker) regarding matters involving the facility.
Deals effectively and tactfully with the public.
Stays up to date with new safety protocols, equipment, and work methods; makes proactive recommendations for improvements.
Coordinates correspondence with the public and other agencies of the Town.
Fills in for other seasonal managers as needed.
Performs other duties as necessary.
