Equipment Operator
The Town of Hadley has an immediate opening for a full time equipment operator/laborer. This is a fully benefited 40 hour/week union job in a municipal pension system. Position is available until filled.
Position Summary:
Performs skilled manual work in the construction, maintenance, and repair of roads, streets, sidewalks, sign installations, drainage systems, and the water system. Performs semi-skilled level with masonry, carpentry, and other related construction work; all other work that is logical to the position. Must be available for snow removal and operate a variety of municipal construction equipment.
Must possess, a valid Massachusetts Class B Operator's License (CDL) with Air Brake Certification and tanker endorsement; hoister's license 2A, 4G any other licenses/endorsements required by state or federal law. Overtime hours required in unusual situations, snow and ice, and emergencies. High School or trade school diploma or equivalency required, or, a combination of education and experience that enables performance of all aspects of the position. Requires three to five years of responsible experience with a working familiarity of the operational methods, materials, equipment required to perform the duties.
The current negotiated wage range for the position is $27.06 - $35.95. Wages will be determined based on licenses held, with additional incentives per hour for attainment of additional licenses.
